Creative Recreation was 1st launched in Orange County California in the fall of 2002. The creators realized a big problem in the shoe business. Everyone was looking for either dress shoes to be worn with a suit or sneakers that were not really acceptable at most functions. No shoe company was offering footwear to young people with style. Three young men with a promising career and style decided they would make a major change in the footwear market. With these ideas behind these creators, Creative Recreation set out to fix this problem. The three founders designed shoes that they wanted to wear by sampling the best aspects from other footwear categories and then making it consist of the comfort of a sneaker with the materialization of a dress shoe to create a crossbreed between the two. A lot of people have problems understanding what category Creative Recreation footwear plays into, but the founders say that they don’t want to be put into any category, simply just a footwear company that makes shoes for the peoples lifestyles.
